Present petition has been filed under Section 483 of BNSS, seeking grant of regular bail, in case, FIR No.0116 dated 05.11.2025, under Section 7(a) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (Sections 318(4), 351(3) of BNS added later on) registered at Police Station Majitha Road, District Police Commissionerate Amritsar. 2. Petitioner is stated to be a Press Reporter, who received illegal gratification to the tune of Rs. 45,000/- to further pay it to the SHO and the doctor, for framing of stronger case against Surjeet Singh and his wife Harwinder Kaur (neighbourer of complainant). 3. The petitioner is inside jail only for the last period of 03 months and 20 days. An amount of Rs. 45,000/- was found transferred through banking channels/UPI.
