1. Present criminal writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing official respondents No. 2 and 3 to protect the life and personal liberty of the petitioners by providing adequate security to the petitioners and also directing respondents No. 4 to 8 not to interfere in the personal life and liberty of the petitioners.
2. On 25.05.2026, following was recorded by this Court:
“ Petitioner No.1-Nikki Kumari, aged about 18 years and petitioner No.2-Dipanshu, aged 18 years, have filed the instant petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking protection of their life and liberty at the hands of private respondents, on the ground that both of them are living together in live-in relationship.
2. Petitioner No.1-Nikki Kumari earlier was residing at Janta Pachiyari, P.O. Dih Janta, Gaighat, Muzaffarpur, Bihar.
3. Let the credentials of petitioner No.1 be verified by the RASHMI 2026.07.08 19:27 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

3. While referring to the status report dated 24.06.2026, learned State counsel submits that, as stated in paragraphs 3 and 4 thereof, petitioners do not face any apprehension or threat to their life and liberty.
4. Faced with the said position, learned counsel for the petitioners prays for permission to withdraw the present petition at this stage.
5. Accordingly, present petition is dismissed as withdrawn at this stage.
