Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record. 2. In spite of service of notice private respondents are not represented. 3. Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that at the time of taking furniture from one premises to another on 9th June, 2026 petitioner’s husband and brother of the husband were physically assaulted and they sustained injury. Issue was reported to the concerned police authority by lodging a complaint on 10th June, 2026. It is submitted that petitioner also sustained injury. 2 4. Petitioner prays for direction upon the concerned police authorities for expediting investigation and giving protection to the petitioner and members of her family. 5. Mr. Das, learned Additional Government Pleader representing State respondents has filed a communication dated 9th July, 2026 of Officer-in-Charge, Chanditala Police Station, Hooghly and same is taken on record. Copy of the communication dated 9th July, 2026 is made over to the learned advocate representing petitioner. 6. It is disclosed in the said communication that on receipt of complaint dated 10th June, 2026 a criminal prosecution being Chanditala Police Station Case NO. 554 of 2026 dated 23rd June, 2026 was initiated and necessary steps are being taken for taking investigation forward. 7. In consideration of the steps taken by the concerned police authorities it is directed that police authority shall take expeditious steps to conclude the investigation and submit report before the jurisdictional Magistrate. 8. Concerned police authorities are also directed to provide protection to the petitioner, if occasion so arises. 9. Writ petition stands disposed of. 3 10. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings. (Saugata Bhattacharyya, J.)
