annum. The petitioners have also sought payment of compensation in respect of House No. CB-694.
2. Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the contents of the writ petition.
3.
Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners, in course of argument, refers to the letter dated 24th April, 2026 (Annexure- 6/1 to the writ petition), issued by the Central Public Information Officer, National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (in short, ‘NTPC Ltd.’), to Md. Moazzam, petitioner no. 1 herein. It is submitted that, as per the information furnished under the provisions of the Right to Information Act, 2005 (in short ‘RTI Act’), petitioner nos. 1 and 2 have been found eligible for payment of the R&R Grant, whereas the claims of the other family members are yet to be finalized for want of complete documents. 4. It is further submitted that, despite petitioner nos. 1 and 2 having been found eligible for payment of the R&R Grant, the same has not been given to them. So far as the claims of the other family members are concerned, learned counsel submits that, as per his instruction, all relevant documents have already been submitted before the competent authority. It is, however, submitted that if any further document is required, the competent authority of NTPC Ltd. shall intimate the same to the concerned family members, who shall, upon receiving such intimation, furnish the requisite documents before the competent authority. It appears from a perusal of the information furnished by the Central Public Information Officer, NTPC Ltd., to petitioner no. 1 vide letter dated 24th June, 2026, that petitioner nos. 1 and 2 have been found eligible for payment of R&R Grant. However, according to the petitioners, they have not been given the said payment by the respondent-NTPC. Moreover, the claims of other family members are still pending for want of certain documents. 6. In view of the aforesaid circumstances, respondent no. 3 or any other competent authority of NTPC Ltd. is directed to take up the matter on priority and to make payment of (R&R) Grant in favour of petitioner nos. 1 and 2, since they have been found eligible for the same, as is evident from the information furnished under the RTI Act, vide letter dated 24th April, 2026. 7. So far as the claims of the other family members, including petitioner no. 3, are concerned, respondent no.
3 or any other competent authority of NTPC Ltd. shall communicate them to furnish the requisite documents so as to finalize their claims with respect to R&R Grant. Upon receipt of the said communication, petitioner no. 3 and/or other family member shall submit the requisite documents within three weeks from the date of receipt of such communication. Thereafter, respondent no. 3 or any other competent authority of NTPC Ltd. shall take an informed decision with respect to their claims for payment of the R&R Grant within three weeks thereafter.
