The petitioners are aggrieved that, in spite of being eligible and meritorious, they were not given service in the Secretariat or the Directorate, but were posted at the regional level. The petitioners have, however, joined the said Regional Institute and have been serving thereat since 2022-2023. 3. After years of service, they have now come before this Court, seeking appointment to a Secretariat or Directorate, to which they were allegedly entitled. The petitioners also submit that they have not been apprised as to why, in spite of having the requisite marks and thereby eligibility, they were not posted in the Directorate or Secretariat. 4. Ms. Sarkar, learned Advocate appearing for the Commission submits that they have followed the 100- point roster, and in accordance therewith, the postings of the petitioners were made. 5. Ms. Banerjee, learned AGP appearing for the State, submits that the B.R. Ambedkar Institute of P&RD is, in all probabilities, a regional-level institute and not a Secretariat or Directorate-level Institute. P a g e | 2 6. In view of the afore-stated, I direct the Public Service Commission to intimate the petitioners as to why they have been posted at a Regional Institute and not at a Secretariat or Directorate-level Institute. Such intimation will be given by August 10, 2026. 7. The State will also intimate the petitioners as to the exact nature of the B.R. Ambedkar Institute of P&RD by August 10, 2026. 8. With the afore-stated directions, the writ-petition is disposed of. No order as to costs. 9.
