Citing urgency, the writ application has been filed today with liberty to move the same at 12.30 p.m. 2. Considering the urgency, the petitioner further prays for leave under clause 26 of the Writ Rules framed by this Hon’ble Court under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, dispensing with service upon the party respondents. 3. This Court is not inclined to grant leave as prayed for, to dispense service upon the party respondents, considering the relief prayed for. 2 4. The petitioner is a candidate in the upcoming elections of the Bar Council of West Bengal from the Siliguri Bar Association Booth for the 12th Election of the Members of the Bar Council of west Bengal on the grounds therein. 5. Admittedly, Election has been declared, to be conducted on 9th and 10th March, 2026. 6. It appears that the provisional electoral rolls were published on 20th December, 2025 and was in circulation till 2nd January, 2026 for submitting objections. The time to submit objection was then extended till 16th January, 2026 and the final electoral roll was published on 23rd January, 2026. The petitioner has waited till 6th March to approach this Court. 7. This Court finds no justification in approaching this Court at the last minute. 8. Considering the delay in preferring the writ application, which may hamper the electoral process, in the Elections being conducted by the Bar Council of West Bengal, as per direction of the Hon’ble Supreme Court, the petitioner at this stage is not entitled to the relief as prayed for. 9. The writ application is accordingly disposed of. 3 10. Connected application, if any, stands disposed of. 11.
