Against the conviction, appeal in Crl.A No.196 of 2026 preferred before the XV Additional Sessions Judge, Chennai. Pending the appeal, the petitioners filed a petition in M.P.No.1 of 2026 seeking suspension of sentence. The Sessions Judge, by order dated 13.02.2026 suspended the sentence in respect of the 2nd petitioner alone on the condition that the 2nd petitioner is to deposit 20% of the cheque amount of Rs.31,08,200/- within a period of 30 days. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the 2nd petitioner was unable to mobilise the fund immediately within the time granted by the trial Court. After a delay of 19 days, the 2nd petitioner mobilised the amount and produced the Demand Draft for a sum of Rs.6,21,640/- drawn on State Bank of India, Egmore branch, which was not accepted by the trial Court. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis CRL OP No. 11497 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 4 4. The time for compliance of order passed by the trial Court dated 13.02.2026 is extended by one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The trial Court is directed to receive the Demand Draft.
