The petitioner is an accused in connection with Katkamsandi P.S. Case No. 219 of 2025. The petitioner and some other accused persons were apprehended by the police and from the possession of the petitioner 720 grams of opium was recovered. Submission has been advanced by the learned senior counsel for the petitioner that the recovered quantity is an intermediary quantity. It has been submitted that some of the co-accused persons have been granted bail in BA No. 1665 of 2026 and BA No. 147 of 2026. It has been submitted that the petitioner does not have any criminal antecedent and he is in custody since 23.10.2025. Learned Spl.P.P. has opposed the prayer for bail of the petitioner. Regard being had to the intermediary quantity of the opium recovered and the fact some of the co-accused persons have been granted bail, as noted above, the petitioner is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned Principal District & Sessions Judge-cum- Special Judge, NDPS Act, Hazaribagh in connection with Katkamsandi P.S.
