Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record. 2. Present writ petition is instituted by a mother who expresses her wiliness to meet her daughter and a prayer is made to issue mandamus upon the concerned respondents to facilitate such meeting in between mother and daughter. 3. Mr. Chakraborty, learned advocate representing Ramakrishna Ashrama Thakurbari (hereinafter referred to as “Ashrama”) submits that at present daughter of the petitioner stays at the said Ashrama. It is submitted that daughter is not willing to meet her mother for certain reasons. 4. Mr. Das, learned Additional Government Pleader representing the State respondents on instruction submits that attempts were made by the police authorities to resolve the issue but those attempts failed. 5. Name of the petitioner’s daughter is Indira Das and it is submitted on behalf of the said Ashrama that present age of said Indira Das is twenty three (23) years. 6. Since Indira Das is present in Court, Court has talked to Indira Das and she said that she is not willing to meet her mother for certain reasons which Court finds are not required to disclose in this order. 7. This Court is contemplating to refer the issue for mediation but Indira Das being daughter of the petitioner has specifically expressed before this Court on posing query that she is not ready to appear before the mediator. 8. In view of mind expressed by daughter of the petitioner, prayer made in this writ petition for directing the concerned respondent authorities to take steps which would facilitate the petitioner to meet her daughter cannot be acceded to. 9. Accordingly, prayer made in this writ petition is not allowed and the writ petition is disposed of. 10. Mr. Chakraborty, representing said Ashrama has 2 expressed apprehension that refusal by this Court thereby not permitting the petitioner to meet her daughter who is staying at the said Ashrama may lead to disturbances at the said Ashrama by local persons and prayer is made for providing police protection. 11. It is also submitted that apart from said Indira Das there are other female residents in the said Ashrama. 12. Officer-in-Charge, Kotwali Police Station is directed to provide necessary protection to said Ashrama, if occasion so arises. 13. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings. (Saugata Bhattacharyya, J.) 3
