Accused in Crime No.154/2026 registered by Konanakunte Police Station, Bengaluru City, for the offences punishable under Sections 351(2), 75(1)(i), 127(2) of BNS, 2023, and Section 66(E), 67(A) of Information Technology Act, 2000, is before this Court in this petition filed under Section 483 of BNSS, 2023, seeking regular bail. 2. Heard the learned Counsel for the parties. 3. FIR in Crime No.154/2026 was registered by Konanakunte Police Station, Bengaluru City, against the accused for the aforesaid offences based on the first information dated 07.05.2026 received from the victim girl aged about 25 years. In the said case, petitioner was arrested on 08.05.2026 and remanded to judicial custody. His bail application filed before the jurisdictional Sessions Court in Crl. Misc. No.4620/2026 was rejected on 21.05.2026. Therefore, he is before this Court. 4. Perusal of the material on record would go to show that the alleged incident had taken place on 24.04.2026 and the - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:34911 CRL.P No. 7498 of 2026 first information is belatedly filed on 07.05.2026. There is no proper explanation given for the inordinate delay of two weeks in approaching the police. The maximum punishment for the alleged offences is imprisonment for a period of seven years. Investigation of the case is already completed. It is not in dispute that petitioner has no other criminal antecedents. Considering the nature of allegations found in the first information as well as the inordinate delay of two weeks in approaching the police, I am of the opinion that petitioner's prayer for grant of regular bail is required to be answered affirmatively. Accordingly, the following order: 5. The petition is allowed. The petitioner is directed to be enlarged on bail in Crime No.154/2026 registered by Konanakunte Police Station, Bengaluru City, for the offences punishable under Sections 351(2), 75(1)(i), 127(2) of BNS, 2023, and Section 66(E), 67(A) of Information Technology Act, 2000, subject to the following conditions: a) Petitioner shall execute personal bond for a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- with two sureties for the likesum, to the satisfaction of the jurisdictional Court; - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:34911 CRL.P No. 7498 of 2026 b) The petitioner shall appear regularly on all the dates of hearing before the Trial Court unless the Trial Court exempts his appearance for valid reasons; c) The petitioner shall not directly or indirectly threaten or tamper with the prosecution witnesses; d) The petitioner shall not involve in similar offences in future; e) The petitioner shall not leave the jurisdiction of the Trial Court without permission of the said Court until the case registered against him is disposed off.
