Complaining illegal construction at the behest of the respondent No. 6 and failure on the part of the municipal authorities to take steps in relation to such illegal construction at holding No. 110 ward No. 27 Mouza- Ghola, Block Bararacpore II, Dag No. 394 (Sali) Khatian Nos. 3593 and 3602 , District North 24 parganas, the instant writ petition has been filed. 2. Having heard the learned advocates appearing for the respective parties and noting a complaint of illegal construction has been made, though the municipality is not represented, I am of the view that the writ petition can be disposed of by directing the municipality to carry out an inspection at the locale and if, any illegal construction is noted, to take appropriate steps in accordance with Section 218 of the West Bengal Municipal Act, 1993. 2 WPA 11886 of 2026 3. It is expected that the decision in this regard must be taken by the municipality on an expeditious basis preferably within a period of 12 weeks from the date of communication of this order upon giving opportunity of hearing to the parties. 4. With the above observations and directions, the writ petition is disposed of. 5. Since no affidavit has been called for, the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted by the respondents. (Raja Basu Chowdhury, J.)
