JUSTICE SHIVASHANKAR AMARANNAVAR ORAL ORDER Accused Nos.1 to 3 have filed this petition under Section 482 of Cr.P.C praying to quash the proceedings in C.C.No.13709/2024 pending on the file of XXIV Additional - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:34373 CRL.P No. 8725 of 2024 Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Bengaluru registered for offences punishable under Sections 498A, 323, 504, 506 read with Section 34 of IPC and Sections 3 and 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act. 2. A case has been registered against the petitioner Nos.1 to 3 on the complaint of respondent No.2 in Crime No.8/2024 of West Women Police Station and after investigation, charge sheet has been filed against them for the aforesaid offences. On the basis of the charge sheet, the case has been registered against accused persons in C.C.No.13709/2024 pending on the file of XXIV Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Bengaluru. Petitioners have filed this petition seeking quashing of said criminal case proceedings. 3. A joint memo has been filed and it is signed by the petitioner Nos.1 to 3, respondent No.2 and their respective counsels. The joint memo has been enclosed by the joint affidavit of petitioner Nos.1 to 3 and respondent No.2. As per the said joint memo, the marriage of - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:34373 CRL.P No. 8725 of 2024 petitioner No.1 with respondent No.2 has been dissolved. The decree of divorce has been passed in M.C.No.2563/2025 by II Additional Family Court, Bengaluru by judgment and decree dated 04.07.2026. Petitioner Nos.1 to 3 and respondent No.2 submits that they have voluntarily settled the matter and respondent No.2 further submits that she has no objections for quashing the proceedings registered against petitioners in C.C.No.13709/2024. 4. In view of the said settlement, the proceedings against petitioner Nos.1 to 3 in C.C.No.13709/2024 pending on the file of XXIV Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Bengaluru are quashed.
