APP Mr. Bhaskar Seth ……for the State. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that petitioner is in custody for two years nine months and prays for bail. Learned advocate appearing for the State has submitted a report. Report reflects that prosecution has examined 19 witnesses and the examination-in-chief of the investigating officer is in progress. The report categorically states that the present witness, Biswanath Sen who is in dock is the last prosecution witness to be examined. In view of the report submitted by the State, at this stage, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. 2 Learned trial Court would ensure that the evidence of the witness be completed within a period of 45 days from next date fixed. In view of the observations passed above, the bail application in CRM (M) 2762 of 2025 is dismissed. Report submitted by the State be kept with the record. A copy of the report be handed over to the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner. All parties shall act in terms of server copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this Court.
