This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner-defendant no.10 with the following prayers :- “(i) A writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the learned Assistant Collector first class to expedite the proceedings of the Suit No.09 of 2011-12 Sushma vs. Ravindra and Others pending before the learned Assistant Collector/ SDO Dehradun, District Dehradun within the stipulated time as this Hon’ble Court deems fit and proper under the prevailing facts and circumstances of the case in accordance with law. (ii) Any other suitable writ, order or direction which this Hon’ble Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case. (iii) Award the cost of petition to the petitioners.” 2. Heard Mr. Bhupesh Kandpal, learned counsel 1 2026:UHC:2620 for the petitioner. 3. Mr. Bhupesh Kandpal, Advocate submitted that the said case, filed under Section 229 B and Section 176 of the Uttar Pradesh Zamindari Abolition and Land Reforms Act, 1950 (as applicable in State of Uttarakhand), is pending since 22.07.2011. 4. Having heard, the learned Assistant Collector Ist Class (SDO), Dehradun is directed to expedite the proceedings of Suit No.09 of 2011-12, “Sushma vs. Ravindra Kumar and Others”, and decide the same as expeditiously as possible, as per law, but not later than six months from the date of production of certified copy of this order. 5. The present Writ Petition No.902 of 2026 (M/S) is disposed of accordingly. 6.
