The petitioner is a successful candidate for the recruitment to the post of Constable (GD) through the recruitment exam 2025 in CAPF, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles. The petitioner has gone through the entire process and has been declared as a successful candidate. However, the process of appointment has been delayed due to an insinuation that there had been a mismatch in the petitioner’s handwriting. The said insinuation has now been resolved in favour of the petitioner. 2. Mr. Dey, learned Counsel appearing for the respondents submits that the last leg of the process in presently ongoing (the LTI of the 2 petitioner has been sent to the National Crime Records Bureau) on June 24, 2026 and will be concluded at the earliest. 3. The petitioner had qualified sometime in January, 2026 and his appointment cannot be kept pending for eternity. 4. The respondent authorities are directed to take steps to obtain the concerned report from the National Crime Records Bureau by July 31st, 2026 and ensure that the appointment of the petitioner is made by August 10, 2026, if he is found to be otherwise eligible. 5. With the aforesaid direction the writ petition is disposed of. 6. No order as to costs. 7.
