Learned advocate representing the petitioner submits that one vehicle needs to be identified which caused accident otherwise petitioner is finding it difficult to take necessary steps for motor accident claim. 3. Petitioner prays for direction upon the concerned police authorities for taking necessary steps to identify the vehicle and share the particulars of that vehicle which would facilitate the petitioner to take steps for initiating proceeding before the concerned authority/ appropriate forum for motor accident claim. 4. Mr. Suryaneel Das, learned Additional Government Pleader representing the State respondents has filed a communication dated 7th July, 2026 of Inspector-in- Charge, Barasat Police Station, Barasat Police District and same is taken on record. Copy of the said communication dated 7th July, 2026 is made over to the learned advocate representing the petitioner. 5. It is disclosed in the said communication dated 7th July, 2026 that though one CCTV is installed at HDFC Bank, Barasat Branch which is located at [2] nearby place of accident but unfortunately it is found during investigation that said CCTV had back-up of only fifteen days whereas complaint was lodged before the concerned police authority on 11th March, 2026, that is, twenty-one days after the incident of accident on 19th February, 2026 as a result whereof concerned police authorities are finding it difficult to get hold of the CCTV footage. However, effort is going on to find out the vehicle. 6. Taking note of the aforesaid predicament which police authorities are facing present writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the concerned police authorities to continue with the endeavour to find out the vehicle which caused accident. 7. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings. (SAUGATA BHATTACHARYYA, J.)
