( 2026:JHHC:28898 ) IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI B.A. No. 7038 of 2026 Anand Kumar Singh … … Petitioner Versus The State of Jharkhand … Opposite Party ------- CORAM : HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE RONGON MUKHOPADHYAY ------- For the Petitioner : Mr. Anjani Kumar, Advocate For the State : A.P.P ------- 03/25.09.2026 Heard Mr. Anjani Kumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned A.P.P. The prayer for bail of the petitioner was earlier rejected at that stage in B.A. No. 1240 of 2026. It has been submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner is in custody since 11.08.2025. It has further been submitted that mother of the victim has been examined as P.W.1 and she has been declared hostile. Learned A.P.P has opposed the prayer for bail of the petitioner. It seems from the status report which has been received pursuant to the order dated 14.09.2026 that out of 8 charge sheet witnesses, 1 witness has been examined so far. The allegations reveal that on the pretext of marriage the petitioner had established physical relationship with the victim whose age was assessed to be 15 years and in her 183 BNS statement she has supported the allegation made against the petitioner. Regard being had to the above, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. His prayer for bail is hereby rejected once against at this stage. (Rongon Mukhopadhyay, J.)
