Neutral Citation No. ( 2026:JHHC:28914 ) IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI B.A. No. 6340 of 2026 Anwar Ansari ... … Petitioner Versus The State of Jharkhand ... … Opposite Party --------- CORAM : HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE RONGON MUKHOPADHYAY --------- For the Petitioner : Mr. Pran Pranay, Advocate For the State : A.P.P. For the Informant : Mr. Aman Shekhar, Advocate --------- 02/25.09.2026 Heard Mr. Pran Pranay, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned A.P.P. for the State assisted by Mr. Aman Shekhar, learned counsel appearing for the informant. The prayer for bail of the petitioner was earlier rejected in B.A. No. 5208 of 2023. Submission has been advanced by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner is in custody since 10.07.2020. It has further been submitted that the Doctor has not been cited as a charge-sheet witness. Learned A.P.P. as well as learned counsel for the informant have opposed the prayer for bail of the petitioner. Mr. Aman Shekhar, learned counsel for the informant has submitted that only one witness who is the Investigating Officer is still left to be examined. Regard being had to the fact that the trial is on the verge of closure and the nature of allegations from which it appears that the petitioner who is the husband of the deceased is alleged to have strangulated his wife to death, I am not inclined to reconsider the prayer for bail of the petitioner which stands rejected once again.
