… Petitioner(s)
Mr. Tapodip Gupta Mr. olam Ahammed Ms. Usashi Chattopadhyay
… for the Petitioner(s)
Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody since January, 2024. Learned advocate also submits that the prosecution has relied upon 10 witnesses in order to prove its case but till date only six witnesses have been examined, as such, he prays that petitioner may be released on bail. None appears on behalf of the State. The records of the case speak that the case was registered in the year 2008 and the petitioner was arrested in the year 2024. Having considered the period for which the petitioner was evading the process of law, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail.
2 Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected. Accordingly, CRM (M) 1100 of 2026 is dismissed. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon’ble High Court, Calcutta. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities.
