IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI B.A. No. 2516 of 2026 Shahnawaz Ansari @ Shahnawaz Hussain … … Petitioner Versus The State of Jharkhand. … Opposite Party ------- CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE RONGON MUKHOPADHYAY ------- For the Petitioner : Mr. Priyanshu Nilesh, Advocate For the Opp. Party : A.P.P. ------- 02/30.03.2026 Heard Mr. Priyanshu Nilesh, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned A.P.P. The prayer for bail of the petitioner was earlier dismissed as withdrawn in B.A. No.9999 of 2025. It has been alleged that the petitioner had committed assault upon the informant with a sharp edged sword and when the younger brother of the informant aged 10 years tried to save the informant, he was also assaulted with a sword. Submission has been advanced by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the younger brother of the informant had suffered simple injuries. It has been submitted that the petitioner is in custody since 12.06.2025. Learned A.P.P. has opposed the prayer for bail of the petitioner. It appears from the impugned order that both the victims had suffered grievous injuries on account of the assault upon them by the petitioner with a sword. Regard being had to the specific nature of allegation made against the petitioner, I am not inclined to grant bail of him. His prayer for bail is hereby rejected at this stage.
