Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record. 2. Mr. Swapan Banerjee, learned advocate representing the petitioner submits that petitioner is facing obstruction from local thugs in running business. It is also submitted that petitioner is a law-abiding citizen and he has no criminal antecedent. According to the petitioner, he is facing disturbance in running his business after declaration of assembly election result on 4th May, 2026. Prayer is made in the writ petition for direction upon the concerned police authorities to provide protection. 3. However, Mr. Das, learned Additional Government Pleader representing the State respondents has placed before this Court a communication dated 29th June, 2026 of Inspector-in-Charge, Asansol South Police Station, Asansol-Durgapur Police Commissionerate 2 and same is taken on record. Copy of such communication dated 29th June, 2026 is made over to the learned advocate representing the petitioner. 4. It is disclosed in the communication that the petitioner is not presently in town rather he is in Chennai for medical treatment. In addition thereto, in a written declaration, which is enclosed to the said communication, of relative of the petitioner who is presently in charge of running the business of the petitioner admitted that neither petitioner nor said Sayed Afshar Ali received threat calls or faced any intimidation from any person. It was also confirmed by said Sayed Afshar Ali that business is operating smoothly and peacefully without any disturbance. 5. In view of the written declaration made on behalf of the petitioner, Court finds there is no need to pass any direction as sought for in this writ petition. 6. Writ petition stands dismissed. 7.
