( 2026:JHHC:28386 ) IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI B.A. No. 8724 of 2026 ------ Naresh Korwa, aged about 51 years, Son of Ram Prasad Korwa, Resident of Village –Hetad Kala, P.O.+P.S. –Chiniya, District –Garhwa, Jharkhand. … Petitioner Versus The State of Jharkhand … Opposite Party ------ CORAM: HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE ANIL KUMAR CHOUDHARY ------ For the Petitioner : Mr. Anil Kumar, Advocate : Mr. Brajesh Kr. Singh, Advocate For the State : Mr. V.S. Sahay, Addl. P.P. ------ Order No.02 Dated- 18.09.2026 Heard the parties. The petitioner has moved this Court for grant of bail in connection with Chiniya P.S. Case No.04 of 2026, S.T. No. 215 of 2026 registered for the offences punishable under sections 103(1), 238, 3(5) of the B.N.S., 2023. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the allegation against the petitioner is that the petitioner in furtherance of common intention with the co-accused persons committed the murder of Ganesh Korwa by assaulting him. It is further submitted that the allegations against the petitioner are all false. It is then submitted that the petitioner has no criminal antecedent as has been mentioned in para –10 of the bail application. It is next submitted that the petitioner has been in custody since 16.03.2026, as has been mentioned in paragraph no. 01 of the bail application. It is further submitted that the petitioner undertakes to cooperate with the trial of the case and further undertakes that he will not annoy or disturb the witnesses of the case in any manner during the trial of the case. Hence, it is submitted that the petitioner be admitted to bail. The learned Addl. P.P. on the other hand vehemently opposes the prayer for bail and submits that there is direct allegation against the petitioner, Vijay Korwa, and Dikdar Korwa of assaulting the deceased resulting in his death and in view of the direct allegation against the petitioner, there is every chance of the petitioner absconding and tampering with the evidence if released on bail. Hence, it is submitted that the petitioner ought not to be admitted to bail. Considering the serious nature of allegation against the petitioner of committing the murder of Ganesh Korwa and the chance of the petitioner absconding and tampering with the evidence if released on bail, this Court is not inclined to admit the petitioner on bail. Accordingly, the prayer for regular bail of the above-named petitioner is rejected. (Anil Kumar Choudhary, J.) 18.09.2026 Sonu/
