his friends were beaten up with the bat, kicks and punches. The complainant is also alleged to have been hit on his head with the handle of the bat. The petitioner was arrested on 17.03.2026 and is in custody since then.
3.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has been falsely implicated. He further submits that that the petitioner is in custody for almost 4 months, having been arrested on 17.03.2026; final report has already been submitted; no recovery has to be made from the petitioner; trial will still take a sufficiently long time, he has clean antecedents and therefore, no useful purpose would be served by keeping the petitioner in custody any longer.

Per contra, learned State counsel has opposed the bail application, stating that a very serious offence is alleged to have been committed by the petitioner, who in the dead of the night along with his friends, intercepted a car and beat up the occupants of the same.
