The petitioners are aggrieved that the premises bearing No. 8/1B, Middleton Row, Kolkata – 700 071 (hereinafter referred to as the ‘said premises’) from which the petitioners run an eatery is without electricity since June 20, 2026. The fault at the said premises has to be inspected and redressed either by the CESC authorities if it falls within their domain or by a certified electrician, if it does not fall within the domain of the CESC authorities. Unfortunately, the CESC officials were not given access to the said premises on account whereof steps could not be taken. 3. The respondent no. 4, the landlord has also been served but he is not represented in court. 4. I direct the CESC officials to cause an inspection on July 10, 2026 at 12.00 noon and ascertain as to whether the fault which triggered disconnection falls within their domain. If it is found that the said fault does fall within their domain, they will 2 immediately proceed to repair and redress the issue. If it is found on inspection by the CESC officials that the fault is not within their domain, the petitioners will be at liberty to take necessary steps in accordance with law to rectify and/or redress such fault. 5. The CESC officials will cause the inspection and reconnect the supply line upon compliance of all formalities by the petitioners as required under the law. 6. The respondent no. 3 i.e. Officer-in-charge, Shakespeare Sarani Police Station is directed to render all assistance to the CESC officials on July 10, 2026 at 12.00 noon at the said premises on the basis of a server copy of this order. 7. The petitioners have agreed to render all charges for the entire exercise including charges for deployment of police personnel at the said premises. 8. With the afore-stated directions, WPA 15041 of 2026 is disposed of. 9. There shall be no order as to costs. 10.
