Affidavit of service filed on behalf of petitioner is taken on record. 2. Petitioner is aggrieved by raids conducted by the concerned police authorities at her residence on 26th May, 2026 and 5th June, 2026. It is submitted that residence of petitioner ought not to have been raided thereby disturbing her peaceful life. It is also contended that CCTV footage and digital video recorder/hard disk which were illegally seized during raids need to be returned to petitioner immediately and to that extent mandamus is sought for by presenting this writ petition. 3. Mr. Ray, learned Government Pleader representing State respondents has filed a communication dated 28th June, 2026 of Officer-in- Charge of Gobardanga Police Station and same is taken on record. 2 4. It is disclosed in the said communication dated 28th June, 2026 that there are two criminal prosecutions, one being Gobardanga Police Station Case No.172 of 2026 dated 25th May, 2026 and another, being Gobardanga Police Station Case No.205 of 2026 dated 11th June, 2026, are pending against the husband of petitioner, namely Sanjay Ghosh and in connection therewith, raids were conducted on 26th May, 2026 and 5th June, 2026 by the concerned police authorities. On two consecutive raids, several incriminating articles were recovered including cash to the tune of Rs.27,08,200/- as well as arms. Articles which were seized during raids are stated in the communication dated 28th June, 2026. 5. In view of provision as contained under Section 106 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, this Court finds during course of investigation, investigating agency is empowered to conduct raids and seize incriminating items. 6. In aforesaid conspectus, present writ petition is not interfered with and same stands dismissed. 7. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon compliance of necessary formalities. (Saugata Bhattacharyya, J.)
