C.R.M. (M) 672 of 2026 With CRAN 1 of 2026
Anowar Hossain & Anr. Versus The State of West Bengal
Mr. Mazhar Hossain Chowdhury. …for the petitioners.
Ms. Ananya Chakraborty. …for the State.
In Re: CRAN 1 of 2026
Learned advocate appearing for the petitioners submits that for reasons beyond his control he could not be present on the date when the bail application was called.
In view of the reasons assigned in the application, I find that the same are just and sufficient. Accordingly, the order dated 01.04.2026 is hereby recalled. The bail application is restored to its original file and number.
Thus, CRAN 1 of 2026 is allowed.
CRM(M) 672 of 2026
Petitioners submit that they are in custody for more than a year and there is no possibility of the trial concluding in near future, as such, the petitioners may be released on bail.
2
Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail.
I have considered the merits of the case including the gravity of the offence. Having regard to the same, I am of the opinion that this is not a fit case to release the petitioners on bail. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioners is rejected. Learned trial court would expedite the process of trial.
Thus, CRM(M)672 of 2026 is dismissed.
