Sl.14 02.07.2026 Court No.6 BP C.O. 2059 of 2026
Tapas Maity -versus- S.B. Developers & Ors.
Mr. Debrup Bhattacharjee Mr. Tirthankar Dey ..for the petitioner
This application under Article 227 of the Constitution of India is at the instance of the complainant praying for a direction upon the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Kolkata-III (South) to dispose of the Consumer Complaint Case No. CC/655/2019 expeditiously. The learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that 20th November, 2026 has been fixed for argument. He submits that such date be preponed. This Court is not inclined to allow the prayer for preponement. Considering the fact that the complaint case was filed sometimes in the year 2019, C.O. 2059 of 2026 stands disposed of by requesting the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Kolkata-III (South) to make an endeavour to dispose of the Complaint Case No. CC/655/2019 as expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties. It will be open to the petitioner to approach the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission for
2 preponment of the date of hearing. If such an approach is made, the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission shall consider the same in accordance with law. There shall be, however, no order as to costs. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
