The petitioners apprehend arrest at the hands of the respondent-police for the offences punishable under Sections 296(b), 118(1), 115(2) of Bharatiya Nagarik Sanhita (BNS), 2023, in Crime No. 97 of 2026 on the file of the respondent-police. 3. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, Mr.A.Amarnath, learned Government Advocate, Counsel of Governemnt of Tamil Nadu (crl.side) appearing for the respondent/ police on instructions submits that the respondent police has registered a case against the petitioners for the offence under Sections 296(b) of BNS, 2023 and 3(1)(r) and 3(1)(s) of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. 4. In view of the above submission, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner seeks permission of this Court to withdraw this petition and to file a fresh application as per law.
