Affidavit of service filed on behalf of petitioner is taken on record. 2. Learned advocate representing petitioner submits that petitioner is victim of post-poll violence and cannot stay at his own residence apprehending physical assault. It is submitted that a complaint was lodged before concerned police authorities and prayer is made for providing protection to petitioner which would enable petitioner to stay at his own residence. 3. On behalf of State respondents, a communication dated 22nd May, 2026 of Officer-in- Charge of Sandeshkhali Police Station is filed and same is taken on record. Copy of the said communication dated 22nd May, 2026 is made over to learned advocate representing petitioner. 2 4. It is disclosed in the said communication that based on complaint dated 19th May, 2026 of petitioner’s wife, an FIR was registered and criminal prosecution commenced, being Sandeshkhali Police Station Case No.263 of 2026 dated 19th May, 2026. 5. In view of initiation of criminal prosecution, concerned police authorities are directed to take the same to logical conclusion by completing investigation and submitting report before the jurisdictional Magistrate. 6. However, concerned police authorities are directed to provide protection to petitioner, if occasion so arises, which would enable petitioner to stay at his own residence. 7.
