ORDER ON BOARD 23/03/2026
1. The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking following reliefs.
“i. That, the Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased issue an appropriate writ, order or direction, more particularly in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondents to consider and decide the petitioner's representations dated 03.01.2020 and 07.07.2023 for grant of compassionate appointment, in accordance with the applicable rules and policy governing the employees of Respondent No.1, within a stipulated time frame as may be fixed by this Hon'ble Court;

The Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to direct the respondents to pass a reasoned and speaking order on the petitioner's claim and communicate the same to the petitioner within the time so stipulated; iii. The Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to pass such other order or direction as this Hon'ble Court may deem just, fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case, in the interest of justice.”
2. Counsel for petitioner submits that as of now, he is not pressing this petition on merits and is only seeking a direction to the respondent No. 1 to consider and take decision on the representation dated 07.07.2023, at the earliest, within specified time frame.
3. On due consideration of the submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioner, writ petition at this stage is disposed of directing the respondent No. 1 to consider and take decision on the representation/claim of the petitioner for grant of compassionate appointment, in accordance with law, expeditiously preferably within a further period of four months from the date of receipt of copy of order passed by this Court.
4. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with the aforesaid observation and direction.
