Side). 1/4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.Crl.(MD)No.2796 of 2026 ORDER The present writ petition has been filed to quash the impugned order passed by the second respondent dated 11.05.2026 wherein the request of the petitioner for grant of permission to conduct adal padal function has been rejected on the presumption that there is a possibility of obscene dances. 2.On a perusal of the impugned order, it is seen that the impugned order is passed based upon the presumption that obscene dances are likely to be performed and there may be law and order problem. It is also seen from the materials on record that this Court vide order dated 21.05.2025 in W.P.(MD)No.14346 of 2025 had granted permission to the petitioner's group for conducting the same function for the last year. Hence, there is no likelihood of law and order problem for conducting the function. 3.In view of the above, the impugned order is set aside and the writ petition is allowed. The second respondent is directed to grant permission and provide police protection for conducting the abovesaid function. It is made clear that the function shall be completed before 10.00 pm.
