V R REDDY KOVVURI Counsel for the Respondent(S): 1. GP FOR WOMEN DEV, CHILD WELFARE The Court made the following: 3 Order:- The petitioner is challenging the appointment of the 5th respondent as Anganwadi worker and seeks a direction to set aside the order of appointment dated 28.12.2013 issued by the 4th respondent. 2. The contention of the petitioner is that the petitioner secured more marks as compared to the 5th respondent in the 10th class examination. It is also submitted that though the 5th respondent is not a native of Bakarapuram Village, she had applied for the post of Anganwadi worker. It is submitted that the notification issued by the respondent authority mandates that the applicants should be residents of Bakarapuram Village for being eligible to apply for the post of Anganwadi worker. It is submitted that the 4th respondent has ignored the basic criteria for selection and preferred the 5th respondent though the petitioner is more meritorious. 3. The respondent Nos.1 to 4 have filed a counter and it is stated in the counter that the District Selection Committee had considered all the applications and based on the performance of the applicants during the interview, the Selection Committee awarded marks to the applicants as per G.O.Ms.No.15. It is submitted that the 5th respondent secured the highest marks in the selection process and she was appointed as Anganwadi worker. It is also submitted that the Selection Committee consists of senior officers and no bias can be alleged against the petitioner. The marks awarded to each of the applicants were also displayed and the respondents have, in their 4 counter, extracted the mark sheets of all the applicants who applied for the post of Anganwadi worker. As seen from the counter, the 5th respondent has secured the highest marks from and amongst the applicants and as such was rightly appointed to the post of Anganwadi worker. 4. This Court has also considered the submission of the learned Assistant Government Pleader that the 5th respondent is presently working and this Court finds no grounds to interfere in the proceedings of the 4th respondent. 5. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs. As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed. ____________________ JUSTICE HARINATH.N 28.01.2026 PNS
