This writ petition has been filed for grant of following substantive reliefs: - “(A) The Hon’ble Court may issue a writ in the nature of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction directing the respondents to provide police protection free of costs to the petitioner and his family. 1Whether reporters of print and electronic media may be allowed to see the order? Yes. 2 (B) That the representation dated 22.09.2025 may be decided in favour of the petitioner and police protection may be provided to the petitioner and his family free of cost.” 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that petitioner has preferred a representation through e-mail on 22.02.2026 (Annexure PX) to the respondent- Police Department, highlighting his threat perceptions and seeking police protection, but till date no action on the same has been taken by the Competent Authority. 4. Learned Deputy Advocate General assures that respondents/Competent Authority will look into the aforesaid representation and will take action in accordance with law. 5. Taking note of above, present writ petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.4/ Superintendent of Police, Una/Competent Authority to look into the grievance of the petitioner as highlighted in his representation sent through e-mail on 22.02.2026 (Annexure PX), expeditiously, and action as deemed fit in accordance with law, be taken. 3 Pending miscellaneous application(s), if any, also to stand disposed of.
