JUSTICE M.NAGAPRASANNA ORAL ORDER The petitioner is before the Court seeking the following prayers: "a) Issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate writ, directing Respondents 2 and 3 to forthwith unfreeze the current account No.5020002356272 of the petitioner maintained - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:33435 WP No. 14486 of 2025 with Respondent No.4 Bank, HDFC Bank, World Trade Center Branch, Bengaluru; b) Declare that the action of freezing the said account without registration of FIR and due process of law is illegal, arbitrary, and ultra virus; c) Pass such other order(s) as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit in the interests of justice and equity." 2. Heard Sri. Shridhara K., learned counsel appearing for the petitioner; Sri. B.N. Jagadeesha, learned Special Public Prosecutor - I along with Smt. Hemalatha V., learned Additional Government Advocate appearing for respondents No.1 to 3 and Sri. Francis Xavier, learned counsel appearing for respondent No.4. 3. The petitioner is a company by name M/s Zeal Divertissement. The issue in the lis is with regard to the freezement of the account of the petitioner. The amount that is involved in the direction to freeze is Rs.4,10,000/-, out of which it transpires that Rs.2,00,000/- has already been paid on 02.12.2024. 4. What remains to be paid is Rs.2,10,000/-. Therefore, the amount of Rs.2,10,000/- lien be marked on the said account and the account be permitted normal operation. - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:33435 WP No. 14486 of 2025 There is no other procedural lacunae projected by the petitioner in the case at hand, particularly with regard to reporting of the freezement to the hands of learned Magistrate. 5. In that light, I deem it appropriate to dispose the petition with the following: ORDER (i) The Writ Petition is disposed. (ii) Mandamus issues to the respondent, forthwith to defreeze the account of the petitioner and mark a lien on Rs.2,10,000/-, which is now the amount that is in dispute, subject to the closure of the crime or otherwise.
