By way of the present petition, the petitioner seeks a direction to the respondents to issue a dependency certificate in his favour, he having already been declared a legal heir and being otherwise entitled to such certificate in accordance with law. 02. It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner is a self-employed small-time labourer, whereas his wife was employed with the University of Kashmir and had served there for nearly two decades. It is further submitted that the petitioner's wife expired on 16.01.2025 due to a severe medical ailment, leaving behind the petitioner as her spouse and a daughter aged about six years. It is further averred that the competent authority issued a dependency certificate on 20.05.2025 in favour of the petitioner's minor daughter alone. It is also averred that the petitioner submitted a Mohammad Yaseen Dar I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document review application before respondent No. 2 on 30.09.2025; however, the same has not been considered till date. 03. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would be satisfied if the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No. 2 to consider and decide the application submitted by the petitioner on 30.05.2026 within a reasonable period. Learned counsel appearing for the respondents has no objection to the prayer so made. 04. In view of the aforesaid submissions, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No. 2 to consider and decide the application of the petitioner dated 30.05.2026, in accordance with law, within a period of three weeks from the date of passing of this order. 05.
