The instant petition has been filed for seeking a direction towards the Respondent No.1 to decide the pending appeal dated 06/04/2026 filed by the petitioner challenging the punishment dated 17/03/2026 wherein the penalty of withholding of one annual increment with non-cumulative effect has been imposed. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has preferred the appeal on 06/04/2026 and the same is still pending, therefore, he prays that a direction may be issued for early decision of the same. 3. Learned State counsel, on instructions, would submit that the appeal preferred by the petitioner would be considered within a period of 60 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 4. I have learned counsel for the parties and perused the documents. 5. Considering the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner and the undertaking given by the State counsel, the instant writ petition is disposed of with an expectation that the respondent authorities shall decide the appeal preferred by the petitioner within a period of 60 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 6. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case and the respondent authorities shall be at liberty to proceed in accordance with law. 7.
