CORAM:
HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE RONGON MUKHOPADHYAY
For the Petitioner : Mr. Suraj Singh, Advocate For the State
: APP
--- 03/30.03.2026
Heard the learned counsel appearing for the respective parties.
The petitioner is an accused in connection with Pratappur PS Case No. 141/2024.
It has been alleged that the son of the informant was abducted by the petitioner and other accused persons. It has been stated that the victim was having a love affair with Asha Devi. Subsequently, the dead body of the son of the informant as well as Asha Devi were recovered.
Submission has been advanced by the learned counsel for the petitioner that there is no direct evidence involving the petitioner in the elimination of the son of the informant and Asha Devi. Learned counsel submits that the case of the petitioner is similar to that of Santosh Bharti @ Pagla who has been granted bail in B.A. No. 4624 of 2025. It has been submitted that the petitioner is in custody since 24.05.2025.
Learned A.P.P. has opposed the prayer for bail of the petitioner.
Regard being had to the fact that the case of the petitioner appears to be similarly situated to the co-accused, as noted above, the petitioner is
directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned S.D.J.M, Chatra in connection with Pratappur PS Case No. 141/2024.
