The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying as under: "(i) Issue writ of mandamus or any appropriate direction directing the respondents No.1 to 3 to act upon the representations made by the petitioner and to take appropriate action or any such appropriate stringent steps under the representation vide ANNEXURE-F dated 28.03.2024; (ii) pass any other writ or direction which may be deemed fit to grant under the above facts and circumstances, in the interest of justice and equity." 2. The petitioner states that he filed an application on 29.08.2006 for grant of a quarry lease for extracting building stone over land measuring 3 acres falling in Survey No.122, Arepura - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:32671-DB WP No. 17136 of 2026 Village, Begur Hobli, Gundlupet Taluk, Chamarajanagara District. The petitioner claims that he has also paid the requisite application fee of `1,000/- and a sum of `7,500/- towards the security deposit. The petitioner states that he had made these payments to the office of respondent No.3 and an acknowledgment dated 04.09.2006 was issued. It is his case that no communication was thereafter received from the authorities. 3. The petitioner states that, in the given circumstances, he made a representation dated 28.03.2024, requesting consideration of his application, which has also not been considered. 4. As is apparent from the above, the present petition is highly belated and we do not consider it apposite to entertain the same. The petitioner's application was submitted on 29.08.2006. Thereafter, no steps were taken for considerable period to pursue the matter. If the petitioner was aggrieved by the non-consideration of his application, he was not precluded from availing the remedies at the material point of time. However, it is apparent that the petitioner did not take any immediate steps. He filed a representation only on 28.03.2024 nearly 18 years after filing the - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:32671-DB WP No. 17136 of 2026 application. The present petition has been filed more than two years after the submission of the said representation. 5. The learned Additional Government Advocate submits that the petitioner's application was rejected way back in August 2008 and he has produced a photocopy of the said register extract. 6.
