Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has assailed the impugned order of termination. He further submits that, against the said order, the petitioner has already availed the statutory remedy of appeal under Clauses 14.8 and 14.9 of the Guest Lecturer Policy, 2024 by preferring an appeal before the Commissioner and the Secretary, Higher Education Department, and the same is still pending consideration.

Learned State counsel raises a preliminary objection regarding the maintainability of the present writ petition on the ground that the petitioner has already availed the alternative statutory remedy of appeal under Clauses 14.8 and 14.9 of the Guest Lecturer Policy, 2024. She submits that since the appeal is pending before the competent authority, an appropriate direction may be issued for its expeditious disposal. She further submits that the appeal can be decided within a period of forty (40) days in accordance with law.
3. Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the material available on record.
4. Considering the submissions advanced by learned counsel for the parties and taking note of the fact that the petitioner has already availed the statutory remedy of appeal, which is pending

consideration before the competent authority, this Court is not inclined to entertain the present writ petition on merits. However, it is directed that the appeal preferred by the petitioner under Clauses 14.8 and 14.9 of the Guest Lecturer Policy, 2024, pending before the Commissioner and Secretary, Higher Education Department, respectively be considered and decided by the competent authority, strictly in accordance with law, by passing a reasoned and speaking order, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of forty (40) days from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
5. With the aforesaid observations and directions, the writ petition stands disposed of. Sd/-
