On mention, this matter is taken up out of turn. WP(C) No. 205/2026: 2. By this petition, petitioner herein is seeking direction upon respondents to correct the date of birth of the petitioner in Passport No. Y5175165 from 01.04.2001 to 16.07.2007, with a further direction to correct the error crept in the name of the petitioner’s father in the said passport from “Gulzar Ahmad Ganaie” to “Gulzar Ahmad Ganie”. 3. Per contra, in the reply filed by the respondents, it is stated that petitioner is seeking change of date of birth which was granted to the petitioner on the basis of his qualification of 7th Pass in the year 2023. Moreover, there is a difference of seven years in the date of birth reflected in the passport as 01.04.2001 to 16.07.2007. 4. Learned counsel for the respondents states that the petitioner herein is under an obligation to approach the competent authority for correction of the date of birth i.e., Respondent No.2, Regional Passport Officer, Srinagar. 5. In view of the statement made by learned counsel for the respondents, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks withdrawal of the instant petition with a liberty to approach respondent No.2, i.e. Regional Passport Officer, Srinagar, for correction of the date of birth as well as error crept in the name of the father of the petitioner. 6. In view of the above, the present writ petition along with connected CM(s), is dismissed as withdrawn with liberty to approach respondent No.2. 7. Interim direction, if any, shall stand vacated.
