IN THE HIGH COURT OF ANDHRA PRADESH AT AMARAVATI
WP(PIL) NO: 8 of 2026 Bench Sr.No:-10 [3552] Yemu Kondal Rao ...Petitioner Vs. The State of Andhra Pradesh and others ...Respondents ********** Advocate for Petitioner : Mr. Jada Sravan Kumar Advocates for Respondents : Mrs. S. Pranathi, Spl. G.P. GP for Information Technology
CORAM : THE CHIEF JUSTICE DHIRAJ SINGH THAKUR SRI JUSTICE CHALLA GUNARANJAN DATE : 7th January 2026 P C :
Learned counsel for the petitioner has drawn our attention to two judgments rendered by the Apex Court in the case of Common Cause Vs. Union of India1 as also in the case of State of Karnataka Vs. Common Cause and others2 to bring home the point that the directions issued and the observations made were being observed in breach by the State authorities inasmuch as there are instances of rampant publication of photographs of Ministers, which run in the teeth of the directions of the Apex Court, which amounts to committing contempt of the orders of the Apex Court.

2 HCJ & CGRJ W.P.(PIL) No.8 of 2026
2. We are of the opinion that the appropriate remedy for the petitioner would be to work out an appropriate remedy, as this Court does not have the authority to punish anybody for the contempt of the orders of the Apex Court.
3. The present PIL is, accordingly, disposed of. No costs.
Consequently, connected miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed.
