No.190 of 2025, on the file of Bhogapuram P.S., Vizianagaram District, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 20(b)(ii)(C) read with 8(C) of the NDPS Act. 2. Brief facts of the case are that, on 24.07.2025, on credible information, the SI of Police of Bhogapuram P.S., conducted raid along with his staff at Rajapulova Junction and caught the accused while they were in possession of 120.305 Kgs of Ganja in 47 packets and transporting the same in 3 cars for commercial purpose. The accused No.2 is in the car that was carrying 35.8 Kgs of Ganja. The Sub-Inspector of Police, Bhogapuram, seized the said contraband and vehicles under the cover of mediators’ report. 3. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Assistant Public Prosecutor representing the respondent/State. Perused the material on record. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner/Accused No.2 was merely a passenger in the vehicle and statutory period is completed. 3 5. Learned Assistant Public Prosecutor submits that the extension petition was filed within the statutory period and some more witnesses are to be examined. The quantity of contraband involved in present crime is 120.305 Kgs of Ganja, which is a commercial quantity. 6. In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case, petitioner does not deserve for grant of bail at this stage. Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is dismissed. As a sequel thereto, the miscellaneous applications, if any, pending in this Criminal Petition shall stand closed. __________________________________________ DR.
