GP FOR WOMEN DEV, CHILD WELFARE The Court made the following: 3 ORDER:- The petitioner is challenging the selection of 5th respondent as Anganwadi worker by respondent Nos.1 to 4, who according to the petitioner is a non-local candidate. The petitioner applied for the post of Anganwadi worker in pursuance of a notification issued on 12.01.2011 and supplemental notification issued on 09.12.2011. The 5th respondent also applied for the said post and it is submitted that the petitioner is a local candidate of Diguvamalapalli village, Bandlapalli panchayat, though the 5th respondent is the non-local candidate, she too has applied for the said post. It is submitted that the notification mandates the applicant to a local candidate for considering the candidatures for selection. It is submitted that though the 5th respondent is a non-local candidate, the selection committee has considered the 5th respondent as suitable candidate in contravention with the eligibility criteria as mentioned in the notification. 2. Learned Assistant Government Pleader appearing for respondent Nos.1 to 4 submits that the selection committee has selected the 5th respondent after the 5th respondent submitted the nativity/residence certificate and the selection process has been transparent. On merits, the 5th respondent was awarded more marks and as such the selections committed preferred the 5th respondent over the candidature of the petitioner. It is also submitted that the 5th respondent is presently working as an Anganwadi worker after her selection. Recording the same, this Court is not inclined to interfere. 4 3. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed. There shall no order as to costs. Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed. ____________________ JUSTICE HARINATH.N Date.18.03.2026 SR
