(Oral) 1. The petitioner seeks direction to respondents to allow emergency parole on the ground to attend the bhog ceremony of his sister, which is fixed for 01.05.2026. 2. Considering the offence involved in the present case this Court cannot grant parole, however, petitioner can be permitted to attend the bhog ceremony in police custody. 3. State to verify and in case the bhog schedule to have taken on 01.05.2026, the Suprintendent Cental Jail Patiala is directed to make necessary arrangement for taking the petitioner to the place of bhog ceremony as mentioned above on 01.05.2026 for a period of three hours. 4. State counsel shall ensure that adequate security arrangements are made for conveying the petitioner to the place of bhog and consigning him back to the Central Jail Patiala on 01.05.2026. The police officials who will go with the petitioner should be in civil attire. 5. Petition is disposed of with the above-said directions.
