Heard the learned counsels appearing for the respective parties. 2. Affidavit of service filed in Court today, is kept with the record. 3. The petitioner has been granted a permanent stage carriage permit being no. PSTS-0054/2024(WB) duly issued by the STA, Jharkhand in respect of vehicle no. JH-02BM-7471 of Ramashankar Kushwaha on the inter-state route Hazaribagh to Asansole via Nirsa, Dhanbad, Chandrapura, Fushoro on 24.09.2024. 4. The State Transport Authority, Jharkhand issued the stage carriage on 04.10.2024 along with an 2 approved time table being bearing Registration no. JH-02BM-7471. 5. Subsequently STA, Jharkhand revised and provisionally approved the timetable of the petitioner’s permit for a period of two months on 24.12.2025 which has been duly communicated to the STA, West Bengal. 6. The petitioner submits that an application has already been made on 19.12.2024 before the State respondent No. 2 seeking inter alia, the counter signing of the permit issued by the STA Jharkhand however, the same remains pending for consideration. 7. It is submitted that the STA West Bengal has already counter signed one interstate permit issued by the STA Jharkhand in respect of a self same route i.e. from Hazaribagh to Asansol for the period (19.09.2024 to 11.09.2029). 8. Due to non consideration of the application for counter signature, a legal notice has been issued on 6.01.2026 to the Secretary, STA, West Bengal in connection with the counter signature of the State carriage permit of the petitioner however, the same remains pending for consideration. 3 9. The State-respondents do not object for consideration of the representation made by the petitioner. 10. After careful consideration of the case and upon perusing the materials available on record, I direct the Secretary, State Transport Authority, West Bengal to consider the representation dated 06.01.2026 within a period sixty days by passing a reasoned order in accordance with law upon affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and the other interested persons, if any, and communicate such decision within a week thereafter. 11. With the above observations, the writ petition, WPA 2746 of 2026 stands disposed of, without going into the merits of the case. 12.
