The petitioner is an accused in connection with S.T. No. 839 of 2025 arising out of Khelgaon P.S. Case No. 40 of 2025, pending in the Court of learned Additional Judicial Commissioner-VII cum Special Judge, CBI (AHD Scam), Ranchi. It has been alleged that the daughter of the informant had committed suicide at her matrimonial house. Submission has been advanced by the learned senior counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner is the husband of the deceased and no demand of dowry has ever been attributed to the petitioner. It has been submitted that the cause of death is asphyxia due to hanging and the petitioner is in custody since 18.07.2025. Learned A.P.P. has opposed the prayer for bail of the petitioner. It seems that the deceased had committed suicide within almost 2 years of her marriage and at the time of her death she was carrying a pregnancy of 35 weeks. Regard being had to the above, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. The same is hereby rejected. (RONGON MUKHOPADHYAY,J.) 30.03.2026 MK
