1. This is an office reference.
2. This Court, vide order dated 06.02.2026, passed in MCRC No. 597 of 2026, while allowed the bail of the petitioner, namely, Dharam Lal Suryavanshi, had expressed its trust that the trial Court should make an earnest endeavor to conclude the trial expeditiously in accordance with law, preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of that order, if there was no legal impediment.
3. The learned Additional Sessions Judge, F.T.C. Bilaspur District- Bilaspur (C.G.) vide his request letter dated 16.06.2026 has requested for KUNAL DEWANGAN Digitally signed by KUNAL DEWANGAN
2 grant of one month’s time for concluding the trial.
4. It transpires from perusal of the P.U.D. that the case was fixed for prosecution evidence and the prosecution evidence was concluded on
12.05.2026. Thereafter, the statement of the accused was recorded and the matter was fixed for defence evidence. The record further reveals that the learned Trial Judge assumed charge of the Court on 01.04.2026 and the case was taken up before him for the first time on 08.04.2026 at the stage of prosecution evidence. It is further revealed that the defence sought time for leading defence evidence, on account of which the matter could not be concluded within the stipulated period. In the aforesaid circumstances, as the defence evidence is yet to be completed and thereafter final arguments are required to be heard before pronouncement of judgment, the learned trial Court has sought extension of time and has prayed for grant of a further period of one month for concluding the trial and final disposal of the case.
5. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is
directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of one month from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
6. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed off with the aforesaid direction.
7. Registry is directed to send a certified copy of this order to the trial Court concerned for necessary information and compliance. Sd/-
