Mr. Biswarup Chatterjee …for the Petitioners In this application, the petitioners have prayed for a direction upon the court below for expeditious consideration of final report submitted by the Investigating agency on 9.7.2025 in connection with G.R. case no. 302 of 2025 arising out of Bidhannagar Police Station case no. 07 of 2025, which is pending before the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bidhannagar. Being aggrieved by the inordinate delay in disposal of the said final report being no. 13 of 2025 dated 9.7.2025, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the final report in the form of closure of investigation has been filed by the Investigating agency in respect of one FIR which was registered on 19.3.2025. Since then, no effective step has been taken to consider the final report submitted by the Investigating officer till today. Therefore, he prayed for necessary direction upon the court below. The instant application and the next date is fixed on 8th July, 2026. Having heard learned counsel for the petitioners, it appears that the prayer made by the petitioners is innocuous and if it is allowed in terms of the prayer made therein, the opposite parties will have no cause to prejudice 2 and as such, the service of copy of application upon the opposite parties is hereby dispensed with. Having considered the submissions made on behalf of the petitioners and also considering the fact that the final report has been submitted by the Investigating agency about one year back and also the fact that the court below has not passed any order in connection with the said report, I find that the prayer made by the petitioner is justified and required to be allowed to secure the ends of justice. In view of above, the instant application being CRR 2435 of 2026 is hereby disposed of with a direction upon the court below to pass necessary order in connection with the final report submitted by the investigation agency on the next date i.e. on 8.7.2026 or preferably within a period of thirty days thereafter.
