W.P.No.17424_2013 THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE HARINATH.N WRIT PETITION NO: 17424 of 2013 ORDER:
1. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is challenging the order dated 26.06.2012 issued by the 2nd respondent appointing the 5th respondent as Anganwadi worker for Kanepalli Village, Pulivendula Mandal, YSR District. 2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner further submits that the petitioner applied for the post of Anganwadi Worker pursuant to the notification dated 25.05.2011.
It is submitted that three applicants had submitted their applications and that the petitioner secured 357 marks in the tenth class. However, the respondent authorities allegedly ignored the said marks and issued the orders of appointment in favor of the 5th respondent. Aggrieved by the same, the present writ petition has been filed. 3. The learned Assistant Government Pleader appearing for the official respondents submits that the criterion for selection of an Anganwadi Worker is not based solely on tenth class marks. It is submitted that the notification prescribes several criteria for awarding marks and that, on overall merit; the 5th respondent secured 59.4 marks, whereas the petitioner secured 55.5 marks. Based on the merit list, the 5th respondent was appointed as Anganwadi Worker. 4

W.P.No.17424_2013
4. The learned counsel appearing for the 5th respondent submits that the Selection Committee considered various aspects in pursuance with the notification and that the 5th respondent was awarded 9 marks in the oral interview, whereas the petitioner was awarded only 1.5 marks. Consequently, the 5th respondent stood meritorious as compared to the petitioner. Accordingly, the order of appointment was issued in favor of the 5th respondent. 5. Considering the fact that the 5th respondent is continuing as Anganwadi Worker, no case is made out for interference by this Court. Accordingly, the present writ petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs. Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed. ___________________ JUSTICE HARINATH.N Date:27.01.2026 NKA
