Ajay Mohan Goel, Judge (Oral) By way of this petition, the petitioner has, inter alia, prayed for the following reliefs:- “a. That writ in the nature of mandamus max kindly be issued, directing the respondents, more particularly Respondent No. 2 not to conduct Panchayat elections of Gram Panchayat Simans Development Block Chauntra Tehsil Lad bharol, District Mandi on the basis of reservation notified by the notification No. PCN MND (Election) 2026-3332-3482 dated 7-4-2026 (Annexure P-6). b. That the appropriate writ may kindly be issued. and the impugned notification No. PCN-MND (Election) 2026- 3332-3382 dated 7-4-2026 (Annexure P-6) may kindly be quashed qua Gram Panchayat Simans and for directing the Respondents to decide the issue of reservation fresh strictly as per law and roster. 1 Whether reporters of the local papers may be allowed to see the judgment? 2 2026:HHC:40900 c. That Appropriate writ, order, or direction may kindly be issued to the respondents to declare Gram Panchayat Simans in Development Block Chauntra reserved for appropriate category by applying principle of rotation.” 2. Learned Additional Advocate General submits that the petition has lost its efficacy as the election on the basis of the Roster has already taken place of the concerned Gram Panchayat. 3. Faced with this situation, learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that interest of justice would be served in case the Authorities are directed to pass appropriate orders on the representation filed by the petitioner. 4. In light of the said innocuous prayer, the petition is disposed of with the observation that the representation of the petitioner be decided by the Authority concerned within a period of eight weeks from today after hearing the petitioner. It is made clear that this Court has not made any observation on the merits of the issue raised in this petition. Pending miscellaneous application(s), if any, also stand disposed of accordingly.
